As our warm blooded Leo muse awakens, she sets out to meet the sun atop a sand dune and red rock haven, spotted during her previous day’s explorations. Soaking up it’s energetic rays to fuel her vitality and courage, she luxuriates in her morning ritual, feeling the pace of her body shift with more passion.

Leo Season, ruled by the life giving sun, is a time when we can all awaken our inner expressive natures, tapping into that which makes us uniquely creative, bold and special.

On this journey, one of feeding her wells of artistic vision, our brave Leo follows a path charted to channel the inspiration of a strong and unapologetic admired female artist, Georgia O’Keefe.

Connected with her creative core, our Leo muse heads out for a new desert exploration with an O’Keefe quote in mind: “I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life – and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.”

She stumbles upon a ghost town – once home to cattle and a booming mining operation. At mid-day, the history, death and rough, earthy hands that once roosted in this town, come to life in the shadows and she’s at once energized to make art, recognizing in herself a connection to the toughness of spirit that must have persisted here; the bravery to be a leader in a new land. She spots a single rose bush, evidence of how new life and beauty can spring from even the toughest exteriors. A reminder to us all that it’s never too late to create.

As the sun’s warmth fades, there is a need for rejuvenation after a long day of composing – an important practice for all of us during Leo Season as we channel our creativity and burn our brightest. A slot canyon with it’s tall sculpted walls, as if a direct channel to our muse’s personal spirit guides, beckon to her. Tapping into her femininity, she slowly and gracefully walks the shallow waters of the canyon in a simple white dress until reaching a waterfall filled with wisdom of the past and reminding her that life and energy always flow, just as her creative juices will always be with her as the sun rises. Another O’Keefe quote fills her expressive heart: I know now that most people are so closely concerned with themselves that they are not aware of their own individuality, I can see myself, and it has helped me to say what I want to say in paint.
