A Week of Sensual Attunement
With a New Season Comes New Ways of Growing and Discovering
How are you all settling into Taurus Season—the season of the steadfast Bull, of pleasure-seeking, and the embodied, sensual shaping of life?
This year, the seasonal shift felt dramatic. Overnight, I went from tearing apart closets, clearing yard clutter, and purging the debris of life, to feeling an irresistible call toward adventure—to the expansiveness of nature. On Sunday, I nudged my husband and pups into the car and declared, We’re going to find a place with space to roam—new horizons to stretch into.
As a Virgo, Taurus Season lights up my 9th house of seeking, learning, and exploration. This combo tends to stir something primal in me—a deep craving to immerse myself in wide-open landscapes where nature envelops and human noise falls away. We ended up at a tucked-away spot in central Utah called Hermit’s Cabin. (There’s some intriguing history there, but I’ll let you go down that rabbit hole if curiosity strikes.)
It was a long day on the road, especially for my three post-surgery guys, but I think we all needed the fresh air and the slow, dusty rhythm of Utah’s west desert. We had hoped to spot the wild Mustangs, but none appeared this time.
Alongside the seasonal shift, a few cosmic changes arrived this past week, bringing spring’s fresh perspectives into even sharper focus.
Mercury—the planet of the mind, communication, and connection—has officially left Pisces’ hazy dreamlands and entered Aries’ bold and clarifying territory. While we’re still in Mercury’s post-retrograde shadow (just a little longer—hang tight), I can already feel my thoughts catching up to the season’s surge of solar energy. There's a crispness returning to the mind, like turning the page on fog.
Mars, too, made a significant move—out of emotional, inward Cancer and into expressive, heart-centered Leo. Mars is all drive and assertion, while Cancer is protective and deeply concerned with safety. That combo stirred a lot of emotional reactivity and defensiveness in the collective (cue all the hot-button security politics, like shipping vulnerable people to distant detention centers without due process). There’s much to unpack with Mars in Cancer, as it seeded a fresh two-year Hero’s Journey in this sign—but for now, take heart in Mars' transition to Leo. The fire is moving toward creativity, leadership, and the courage to express ourselves with integrity and heart.
Taurus Season invites us back into the body, into the moment, into the slow and steady rhythms of a life that feels good. Let it ground you while the cosmos stirs your spirit forward.
In the Stars This Week
Last Quarter Moon Reflections
As we move into Taurus Season—a time rooted in sensuality, values, and the art of molding a life of substance—the Last Quarter Moon week (lasting until Sunday afternoon) invites a quieter kind of momentum: reflection, recalibration, and mutual exchange.
This is a week to gather feedback, offer your insights when asked, and stay curious in conversation. Speak your truth, yes—but listen deeply too. Allow your perspectives to be challenged and softened by others’ lived realities. A little constructive debate can be enriching, as long as the mind remains open.
Taurus is connected to deeply held values, which can sometimes bring black-and-white thinking. That, in itself, can be a superpower—clarifying preferences, creative aesthetics, and personal non-negotiables. But under this week’s moon phase, it’s also important to remember that Taurus, in its higher expression, knows that kindness is the gentlest bridge across divides. We don’t all have to agree. The soul grows not in rigid consensus, but in respectful difference.
Many of the values we hold dearest were formed in childhood—encoded into us before we had the tools to question them. This week might stir some of those embedded assumptions, revealing outdated overlays you didn’t realize were there. Be gentle. Sharing yourself with honesty may open up new windows into what truly matters to you now.
Saturn Crosses the North Node in Pisces today (April 21st)
Especially for Capricorn and Aquarius, the complexity that our Executive and Architect archetypes have faced with complicated endings, slippery shadows, and fluid, nebulous structuring, is starting to clear up this week. Saturn will still be in Pisces, but things will move more toward beginnings than endings in our focus and in what we are building. Later in May, when Saturn moves to Aries, a new chapter will kick in around bold, fresh focuses in life (and hopefully an end to corporate meddling in our institutional settings).
Venus Conjunct the North Node in Pisces — Wednesday Night
Just as Mars exits a prolonged funk, we’re stepping into a Venus-ruled season with Venus herself a little adrift. Hovering just behind the North Node in dreamy Pisces, the planet of beauty and desire has been yearning for space, rest, and renewal—a perfect mirror to that spontaneous road trip to Hermit’s Cabin.
But clarity is coming. As Venus crosses the North Node on Wednesday evening, she receives a gentle nudge toward purpose. Still bathed in the poetic haze of Pisces until April 30th, Venus remains dreamy but more directionally attuned. Venus is exalted in Pisces, after all—it’s here that love takes on a higher octave, full of compassion and artistic sensitivity. This is a beautiful time to make art, seek inspiration, and release outdated judgments of beauty, self-worth, and desire.
Venus Conjunct Saturn in Pisces — Thursday Evening
Thankfully, this union takes place after both Venus and Saturn have passed the North Node, which infuses their meeting with forward movement and constructive potential. This is an ideal time to set intentions around building value and beauty into your life and work. In Pisces, this might mean asking: How can my goals reflect the complexity and tenderness of the world I live in?
Think beyond numbers—think soulful impact, ethical prosperity, and structures that honor life in all its nuance.
Mars in Leo Opposes Pluto in Aquarius — Saturday Evening
This is the final installment of a powerful trio of oppositions between Mars and Pluto, stretching back to November. It’s a potent, combustible energy that has often manifested as power struggles, clashing agendas, and hyper-masculine posturing.
But now, both planets sit in signs with more progressive leanings. Leo and Aquarius aren’t afraid to challenge authority or stand up for the underdog. While past face-offs (especially in Cancer and Capricorn) have clung to traditional power centers, this one may channel its fire into collective empowerment and revolutionary momentum.
It might be idealistic, but this third and final opposition could represent action rising in support of people-led power. Think: creative rebellion, visionary leadership, and courage with purpose.
On a personal level, this could be a powerful time to pitch entrepreneurial projects, apply for funding, or take a brave leap into leadership. Just be mindful of the weight that comes with responsibility—every bold step requires grounding.
Taurus New Moon — Sunday Afternoon
Sunday afternoon brings the lush, grounding magic of the annual Taurus New Moon. This is a time to pause, breathe, and plant seeds for the next cycle—intentions rooted in self-worth, income, beauty, pleasure, and voice.
Reflect on your voice and value: How are you spending your energy? What truly nourishes your worth? Where do you long for more simplicity, luxury, or sensuality in your life?
Let this be the season you align with the slow, rich rhythms of a life well-loved—and well-lived.
